Pivots Print E-mail

APR Greenhouses & Technology carry out the calculation and design of your system in accordance with the conditions of the property in question. The Pivots are electrically propelled units that deliver the water and the fertilizers to the crops uniformly in the form of rain. The necessary pressure for the system is provided by the pumping set and, depending on the quality and origin of the water, it will require an appropriate filter to be installed in the equipment at the sprinkler mouthpiece. The Pivots consist of four basic elements:

  • The supporting structure
  • Electric system
  • The mechanical traction
  • The hydraulic system for transport and application of water.

The structure is composed of a central tower and a certain number of structural lengths moved by their corresponding mobile towers. The structure also comprises several sets of V-shaped angular members, maintained in position by angular braces and tensor rods.

The electrical system is made up of a main switchboard, a slip ring collector (located in the central tower), conductor cables, and control boxes for final and intermediate towers.

The central panel controls:
  • The speed of the system and the quantity of water applied.
  • The direction of movement of the system (forward, backward, or sectorial watering).
  • The working mode (manual or automatic).
The water is atomised into the form of droplets by means of the sprinklers or mouthpieces located in the top part of the tube.
